How to Reach New Customers in India, USA and Europe

Three markets, three sets of working hours and expectations. Here is how to run them without them interfering with each other.

Selling into more than one country is not the same activity repeated. The working day is different, the tone that reads as normal is different, and what a reader considers a reasonable email differs more than most businesses expect.

Treat each market as its own thing

The most common mistake is to write one campaign and send it everywhere. It will read as slightly wrong in at least two of the three places. Different examples, different currency references, and sometimes a different offer are all worth the effort.

With Find New Customer, India, USA and Europe can each be managed separately, with their own campaigns, their own schedules and their own daily customer reach. Adding a market never divides the one you already have.

Send at their local time, not yours

An email that arrives at 3am is an email that arrives underneath everything else. Choose the timezone and the send time that suit each market — your campaign for the USA can go out at 09:00 Eastern while your India campaign goes at 10:00 IST.

You can pick any timezone in the world, so a business run from Dubai selling into Europe can still send on European working hours.

Europe is not one country

Europe is a market made up of many countries, and it is worth remembering that a customer in France and a customer in Poland have very little in common beyond a continent. Target by region and city, and be careful about assuming a single European tone of voice.

Expect a different response rate, and do not over-read it

The same campaign will perform differently in different markets, and one month is not enough to tell you why. Filter your dashboard by market and by This month, and change one thing at a time.

Pricing across markets

Each market is priced separately, and you buy only the ones you sell into. Businesses billed in India pay in rupees; businesses billed anywhere else pay in US dollars. There is no currency conversion applied to a displayed price — the price you see for your billing country is the price you pay.

Start with one

Prove the approach in the market you know best, then add a second. A market you have not tested is a market where you do not yet know whether your offer lands.

Compare markets and plans.
